Partnering with Ability Connection Texas, the Speech Language Pathology staff at North Dallas Therapy provides diagnosis, treatment, and consultation for a variety of speech and language problems including: receptive and expressive language skills, articulation difficulties, voice disorders, communication problems associated with autism or pervasive developmental disorder, language developmental delays , non verbal communication, swallowing and oral motor concerns.

Assistive Technology at Ability Connection Texas
The Assistive Technology program (also known as our Removing Limits Through Technology program) at Ability Connection Texas is an innovative program that educates children and adults on how to use assistive technology to be more independent in their daily lives. This program features an assistive technology lab with a variety of computer-related and other technologies along with training opportunities.

About HCS
ACT’s Home and Community-Based Services program (also known as HCS) provides the help and support necessary for individuals of all ages with intellectual or developmental disabilities to live independently in their homes and as active citizens in the community. Our dedicated team of professionals at ACT work with each individual to ensure they receive the very best care and support around!
There are many services and supports offered through our HCS program. The service type and amount of each service is based on the needs of each individual and reviewed annually at a special planning conference. Home and Community-Based Services (HCS) are available to individuals living in various settings. Whether living in his or her own home, with family, with a paid companion/foster care provider, or in small group home settings, HCS services are available to allow each person to be as independent as possible.

About CLASS
The Community Living Assistance and Support Services (CLASS) program at Ability Connection Texas is a high-quality program that provides the help and support necessary to for individuals of all ages with all types of disabilities to live as independently as possible at home and in the community. ACT has been providing CLASS services in Texas for the past 19 years.
There are many services available through ACT’s CLASS program. Our dedicated team of professionals at ACT provide high quality case management services and coordinate a variety of services to ensure individuals with disabilities are able to live autonomously.

About Texas Home Living (TxHmL)
The Texas Home Living program (TxHmL) program at Ability Connection Texas provides vital services and supports to individuals of all ages with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our dedicated team of professionals at ACT work with each individual in this program to ensure they receive the very best care and support around!
There are many services and supports offered through our Texas Home Living program. The service type and amount of each service is based on the needs of each individual and reviewed annually at a special planning conference. These services are available for individuals who live in their own homes or with their family.

Empowering Individuals with Disabilities (CDS)
Consumer Directed Services (CDS) is offered as part of ACT’s comprehensive service array. This program empowers individuals with disabilities to be more independent, by serving as an employer and personally directing their own care. This means a person with a disability has the freedom to hire, train, supervise or terminate their care provider. Individuals with disabilities (or their legally authorized representative) can work with a Consumer Direct Service Agency (CDSA) — like Ability Connection Texas — that will provide financial management services, such as payroll processing and required federal and state filings, taxes and both quarterly and annual tax returns.

Nursing Services for Individuals with Disabilities
Ability Connection Texas (ACT) offers Nursing Services as part of its comprehensive service array for children and adults with disabilities. Whether supervising medication administration at one of our homes, checking the temperature of a child in our preschool program, administering flu shots or assisting a client with a feeding tube, our professional nursing staff provides top-notch care for all our clients.

Public Education
The Public Education program at Ability Connection Texas provides valuable educational services to families, caregivers and disability professionals who are responsible for taking care of (or overseeing the care of) a person with a disability. We also offer training and educational programs to the community in order to create a greater awareness of disabilities, to promote better care for people with disabilities, to teach about recognizing abuse, neglect or exploitation, and to foster more positive attitudes toward those with disabilities.
